Prepare a glass by running a lime around the mouth and rimming it (heh heh) with salt. Next, fill a shaker with ice, gin, and grapefruit juice, and shake what yo mamma gave ya. Serve over the rocks and pucker up. If we had pink graprefruit juice as an ingredient, this would be called a Pink Bulldog.

Depends who you ask. Some people will insist that a Salty Dog is made with Vodka, others, they will argue until blue in the face that the Salty Dog is made with Gin. Maybe one day this classic battle will be settled, but until then I have decided to make a specific recipe that calls for Gin.
